About ZQuiet Anti-Snoring Mouthpieces
Mouthpieces
Some people have no side effects at all when trying a ZQuiet Mouthpiece for the first time. Others can have challenges with feeling pressure on the front teeth, an urge to cough, excessive saliva or unconsciously removing the device while sleeping. These experiences lessen with time and use. We recommend wearing your ZQuiet for short periods of time while you are awake to help get accustomed to the device. Remember, after a short adjustment period, everyone can enjoy quiet, restful sleep!

Trina: If you're new to trying ZQuiet, what do you need to know? For some people the snoring stops overnight and it's really easy, and for others an adjustment period is needed and that's completely normal. Sometimes it takes a couple days and for some people it can even take a couple of weeks. The most important thing to know is that with time everything gets better, so we always recommend to start by wearing it for small periods of time make sure you start with size 1 and go for like 10 to 15 minutes at a time until it feels natural to have the mouthpiece in your mouth. Some drooling is natural, don't worry about it. It'll get better with time and use, and then once you've established that you can wear the mouthpiece, go ahead and try to wear it when you go to sleep. You may be able to sleep the whole night through with no issues, but don't be surprised if you find it on your pillow, it pops out at night sometimes. You may need to take it out during the night and you might even want to take a night or two off if you're feeling some jaw soreness which is completely normal. When you think about it you're moving your lower jaw forward and that's training new muscles - it's like a new exercise. So some jaw or tooth soreness is completely normal. All of these things subside with time and use, so take it easy, stay positive, and with time you're going to have a great night's sleep with ZQuiet, and if you need any help we're always here, just reach out.
There is no setup involved. You can simply take it out of the case and use it. Start with the Comfort 1 device. If your snoring persists then use the Comfort 2 device which will widen the airway slightly more.
The Original ZQuiet Mouthpiece with its flexible material and open trays was specially designed to fit nearly everyone. No boiling or molding is required—just use it exactly as provided. If needed, you can trim your ZQuiet with small scissors to improve fit and comfort. After trimming, use a fingernail file or emery board to smooth any rough edges and avoid irritation to the gums.
You should expect to see results the very first night you use it. Optimal results occur after determining which jaw advancement (Comfort 1 or Comfort 2) works best for you.
It depends on the individual, but many customers find that their ZQuiet Mouthpiece lasts for many months of nightly use. Just like a toothbrush, we recommend replacing ZQuiet at least every 6 months. Users that clench or grind at night may find they need replacements closer to 3 months or may want to try the ZQuiet Firm Mouthpiece that is made with a stronger hinge. We offer repeat customers a variety of subscription options with deep discounts to make sure that you always have replacement ZQuiet products when you need them and at the best price.

Trina: So what's the best way to care for your ZQuiet? First of all it's important to clean it after every use and we recommend using ZQuiet clean, but you can also just use a toothbrush and some mild soap. You want to make sure you don't use any cleaner with harsh chemicals like bleach or alcohol or ammonia. And once it's clean be sure to store it flat in the storage case because this maintains the hinge strength and it'll last longer that way. So how long should your ZQuiet last? We like to think of it like a toothbrush: over time and with use it does need replacement. Most people with nightly use replace it about every four months. If you use it a little less often maybe every six months, and then some people who have particularly strong Jaws or who clench and grind their teeth at night wear through that hinge a little more quickly and need more frequent replacement. We carry each size on our website and it's really easy to reorder in just the size that you need.
Getting a replacement mouthpiece is easy, just click here to order. We recommend our subscriptions to get new devices delivered to your door at our lowest price in a frequency that is right for you.
The Comfort Mouthpieces are made with a softer more flexible material and the ZQuiet Firm Mouthpieces are designed with a stiffer grade material and an extra-strong hinge. We recommend the Firm mouthpiece for people who clench or grind their teeth or who find their ZQuiet lasts under 2-3 months.
Troubleshooting
If you are new to wearing a ZQuiet Mouthpiece, give it some time. It’s a normal response to eject the mouthpiece while sleeping and this will subside with time and use. If this persists, a chin strap can help stabilize the jaw and keep the mouthpiece in place.

We recommend reviewing the instruction manual that came with your ZQuiet Mouthpiece and our Success Page for a number of great tips and suggestions. You might also try using a chin strap in conjunction with the mouthpiece to help stabilize the lower jaw.
Some jaw discomfort is completely normal when using a mouthpiece that repositions the lower jaw. Just like when you get sore muscles from trying a new exercise, your jaw muscles may experience temporary soreness while they adjust. We find that most people adjust to the device within 2 days to 2 weeks and after that short period of time, the discomfort disappears. In the event that you have persistent or prolonged jaw discomfort that lasts for more than 2 hours after removing the device, please discontinue use of ZQuiet, and contact your dentist.

Drooling is a common issue for many customers and usually disappears with continued use. The body’s natural response to having a device in your mouth is to salivate. Most customers find that within a range of 2 days to 2 weeks, the drooling stops and you achieve maximum comfort with your ZQuiet Mouthpiece.
t sounds like your hinge is no longer working and your ZQuiet needs to be replaced. Most customers find that ZQuiet lasts for 2 months to a year depending on a variety of factors. We recommend replacing ZQuiet every 4-6 months just like you would a toothbrush. For repeat customers, we offer a variety of subscription options to make sure you always have a fresh ZQuiet available. If you find that your ZQuiet needs to be replaced more often than 3-4 months you might want to consider a ZQuiet Firm Device which has a stronger hinge for people that clench or grind at night which wears down the device faster.

ZQuiet Mouthpiece Questions
Mouthpieces that move the lower jaw forward to treat snoring have been widely used for decades and clinical tests have shown a success rate of over 90% in reducing snoring. Some people find there is an adjustment period when first wearing an oral appliance, and this is true with custom dentist-fitted devices and over-the-counter products like ZQuiet.
ZQuiet Mouthpieces use the same technology that many anti-snoring devices employ, but is much easier to use: It moves the lower jaw forward which opens the airway and reduces the vibration that causes snoring. Unlike some anti-snoring devices, ZQuiet lets you breathe completely naturally, through your mouth and nose. Opening and closing your mouth while sleeping is a natural process and ZQuiet’s hinged design provides jaw mobility no matter what sleep position you are in. Many customers appreciate the fact that they can even talk or take a drink without having to remove the mouthpiece.

I’m Dan Webster, co-founder of ZQuiet. I want to talk about how ZQuiet is different from other anti-snoring mouthpieces. When I worked with our team of professionals to develop ZQuiet, my primary objectives were: Comfort, Ease-of-use and Effectiveness.
While the principle of advancing the lower jaw is the same with all mouthpieces, the ZQuiet design contains unique features that set it apart. The biggest differentiator is the patented living hinge. This hinge design allows freedom of jaw movement. Most other mouthpieces force the jaw into a clenched bite without any ability to open the mouth or the jaw naturally, something I find to be uncomfortable and disturbing to my sleep.
Another benefit to this design is that you can talk without removing the device and even take a sip of water, something many people do before going to sleep. The other big differentiator is the fact that ZQuiet is ready to use right out of the package without any complex molding, boiling or impressions. In fact, it’s the easiest mouthpiece to use for that very reason.
One thing that most people don't realize is that moldable devices require a hard plastic outer shell to maintain their shape and the jaw advancement. This creates excess bulk that some people, especially with smaller mouths, find difficult to tolerate. ZQuiet’s slim and low-profile design won't make you feel like you've just overstuffed your mouth. As someone that has tried many different anti-snoring mouthpieces, I understand that comfort and fit varies from person-to-person. We don't claim to be the best mouthpiece for everyone, but many people prefer the comfort, simplicity and hinge design of ZQuiet and we hope that you’ll be one of them.
The ZQuiet Mouthpiece is a FDA regulated medical device which requires extensive & rigorous procedures that add to our cost. Beware of cheap imitation devices that may claim to be FDA approved but in reality have not been proven safe to use.
You should expect to see results the very first night you use it. Optimal results occur after determining which jaw advancement (Comfort 1 or Comfort 2) works best for you.
The ZQuiet device is made of a soft thermoplastic compound that has undergone stringent consumer testing including toxicology, sensitivity and biocompatibility assessments. It does not contain silicone, latex, or Bisphenol A (BPA). The material is made in the USA, and is specially formulated for medical applications that require FDA compliance.
Because of the universal sizing and soft material, no boiling or molding is required.
ZQuiet was designed with efficiency and comfort in mind. No impressions or molding are required because the low profile, open channel design and soft material allow the device to conform to any mouth and the patented living hinge holds it securely in place.
It depends on the individual, but many customers find that their ZQuiet Mouthpiece lasts for many months of nightly use. Just like a toothbrush, we recommend replacing ZQuiet at least every 6 months.

We proudly manufacture ZQuiet and all of the components in the U.S.A.
The ZQuiet Mouthpiece is FDA cleared to treat snoring. All oral anti-snoring devices are considered Class II medical devices regulated by the FDA and must meet their requirements. Technically, if a device like ZQuiet is similar to a device that has already been cleared for the same use, the FDA does not “approve” a new device in the same category; they “clear” them for sale under the 510(k) Clearance process. In order to receive FDA Clearance, a product must be proven effective and must also undergo very strict consumer safety testing. There are many anti-snoring devices sold online that are not cleared by the FDA, and there is no way to ensure that those products are effective or safe for consumers, or legal for sale.
Absolutely! It is not only effective at eliminating snoring, it also protects your teeth against damage from nighttime clenching and grinding.
